Team Development Workshop

Course Overview
To enable an existing team or a new team to examine and address the issues that affect its performance.

Course Objectives


At the end of the workshop participants will have:
· Considered the theory of team development and its implications for them.
· Examined issues important for developing the team further and explored appropriate interpersonal issues.
· Explored the key team skills of communicating and decision making as a group.
· Analysed their team roles, both individually and as a group.
· Identified areas of improvement within their own team and have developed strategies for change.

Course Content


Day One

- What is a team?
- How has this team come into being?
- Understanding the change process
- What challenges does this create for the team?
- Moving forward positively
- The strengths of your team and areas for improvement
- Team roles
- Communication and its importance
- How do you feel about being in this team?
- Decision making and how it takes place

Day Two

- The vision of your team/organisation
- Management and operational issues
- How to increase the effectiveness of the team
- Team support
- How do you/will you support each other?
- Learning from each other
- The way forward
- Action planning


N.B. This programme is sufficiently flexible to embrace issues that may emerge during training which have not been anticipated.

It is highly recommended that there be a follow-up day for this workshop which will take place about three months after the initial event. This will allow the team to review their progress during this time, re-evaluate their goals and affirm their commitment to the future progress of their team.
